“Innovation in Australia by Ben Kehoe captures the spirit of The Lucky Country by Donald Horne.
His thesis that Australian’s are overwhelmingly preoccupied with lifestyle and recreation as a result of our natural endowments, and he argues that business (with the government) must play a more significant leadership role if we are to fulfil our great potential as a nation.
It is a timely message given the COVID and our current economic circumstance. Australia is at a choice point. He proposes some thoughtful initiatives which will contribute to “shaping our future.”
In my view, it is the best read since the Lucky Country!!

The argument is put that one day, when the bubble bursts, we’ll be hungry enough, but likely it will be too late.
He has in simple terms named many of the challenges and problems with the Australian business culture.
We owe it to future generations of Australians to embrace the learnings from Ben’s book.
